Winter Weekend Features
Array of “Cool” Activities
“Frozen Fun” is the theme of Winter
Weekend at Rider University, Friday through Sunday, January 26-28.
To kick off activities, the movie “The Prestige”
will be shown Friday in the Bart Luedeke Center (BLC) Theater
at 7:30 p.m. That evening, an ice hockey game (Rider vs. The College
of New Jersey) will take place at 9:45 p.m. at Lawrenceville Prep
in Loucks Ice Center. Starting at 10 p.m., Rider students are
invited to a Bronc Buffet at Daly’s. Free T-shirts will
be given throughout the weekend to early attendees at various
events.
Winter fever sets in early Saturday with a ski trip to Mountain
Creek. Buses depart at 6:30 a.m. in front of the Student Recreation
Center (SRC). Due to limited seating, students must sign up in
advance at the ticket booth on a first-come, first-serve basis.
For those who want a warmer climate, the Sovereign Bank Arena
will feature an afternoon of riveting basketball: Rider women
vs. Saint Peter’s at 1 p.m. and Rider men vs. Siena at 3
p.m.
During the evening, the excitement will build as hypnotist Steve
Atwood entertains one and all at 8 p.m. in the BLC Theater. A
Club Cabin Fever – All Ages Dance Party with a disc jockey
will follow from 10 p.m. to midnight in the Pub.
Winter Weekend concludes Sunday with a Winter Brunch, featuring
everyone’s favorite comfort foods, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30
p.m. in Daly’s, a Madden 2007 Football Video Game Tournament,
featuring great prizes, at 1 p.m. in the SRC, and the repeat showing
of “The Prestige” at 7:30 p.m. in the BLC Theater.
