Rider Art Gallery Exhibit Entitled “Watercolors: New Jersey Landscapes,” by W. Carl Burger January 25 to February 22 with an Opening Reception on January 25 and an Artist’s Talk on February 1

The Rider University Art Gallery is presenting an exhibit entitled “Watercolors: New Jersey Landscapes” by W. Carl Burger from Thursday, January 25 to Thursday, February 22. There will also be an opening reception on Thursday, January 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. and an artist’s talk on Thursday, February 1 at 7 p.m. The Art Gallery is located in the Bart Luedeke Center on the Lawrenceville campus, and admission is free. Westminster Conservatory Faculty Recital on January 28

There will be a Westminster Conservatory faculty recital on Sunday, January 28 at 3 p.m. in Bristol Chapel on the Westminster campus by soprano Nancy Froysland Hoerl, pianist Akiko Hosaki , and flutist Jill Crawford. The repertoire includes music by Reynaldo Hahn, Jean Sibelius, Ben Moore, Leonard Bernstein and Jake Heggie. The program also includes an area premiere of "The Deepest Desire: Four Meditations on Love," a work by Heggie inspired by four free-form poems by Sister Helen Prejean, author of the best-selling book "Dead Man Walking." Heggie also composed the opera “Dead Man Walking,” which was based on the book. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students/seniors and are available by calling the Westminster box office at 609-921-2663. Students, faculty and staff receive one free ticket with a valid Rider ID.

Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra Concert on January 28

The Kaleidoscope Chamber Series continues on Sunday, January 28 at 3 p.m. in Gill Chapel on the Lawrenceville campus with a performance by the Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students/seniors and are available by calling the Westminster box office at 609-921-2663. Students, faculty and staff receive one free ticket with a valid Rider ID.

Westminster Faculty Recital on February 3

Works by Milton Babbitt, John Cage, Lou Harrison, David Rakowski and others will be presented in a Westminster Faculty Recital on Saturday, February 3 at 8 p.m. in The Playhouse on the Westminster campus. Piano faculty member James Goldsworthy will be joined by guest artists Judith Bettina, soprano, and Peter Jarvis, percussion. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students/seniors and are available by calling the Westminster box office at 609-921-2663. Students, faculty and staff receive two free tickets with a valid Rider ID.

Westminster Faculty Recital on February 4 Rescheduled for May 6

The Westminster Faculty Recital by soprano Faith Esham, originally scheduled for Sunday, February 4 at 3 p.m., has been rescheduled for Sunday, May 6 at 7:30 p.m. in Bristol Chapel on the Westminster campus.

Rider Art Gallery Chamber Music Concert on February 8

“Volanti Flutes,” composed of Westminster Conservatory faculty members, will present a Chamber Music Concert on Thursday, February 8 at 7 p.m. in the Rider Art Gallery on the Lawrenceville campus. Admission is free.

Westminster Faculty Recital on Sunday, February 11

Piano faculty member Phyllis Alpert Lehrer, joined by violinist Denise Huizenga, violist Susan Yeh and cellist Daniel Lee, will present a chamber music recital on Sunday, February 11 at 3 p.m. in Bristol Chapel on the Westminster campus. The repertoire consists of Beethoven's Kreutzer Sonata for Piano and Violin, Mozart’s Piano Quartet in G minor, and Brahms’ Piano Trio in B Major, Op. 8. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students/seniors and are available by calling the Westminster box office at 609-921-2663. Students, faculty and staff receive two free tickets with a valid Rider ID.
