Bursar's Office, Student Financial Services Reach 100 Percent Participation in Faculty, Staff Campaign
The Faculty & Staff Campaign Committee announces
that the Bursar’s Office and Student Financial Services
have both reached 100 percent participation for its 2007 campaign,
which ends June 30.
These two departments are the first this fiscal year to have
each member of their staff make a contribution to the campaign.
Both departments will be acknowledged for their extraordinary
support at the annual Faculty & Staff Donor Reception hosted
by President Rozanski and his wife, Bonnie, on April 16.
Each year the Faculty & Staff Campaign Committee, comprised
of faculty and staff members from both campuses, devotes much
of its time to raising awareness of institutional needs and the
important role faculty and staff have in allowing the University
to meet its obligations, now and in the future.
“It is so important that we give back – even if it’s
just a little – as an expression of our belief in Rider
and its mission,” notes Anna Robbins, this year’s
campaign co-chair and bursar. When asked how she was able to encourage
her entire staff to give she replied simply, “I didn’t
do much – giving must come from the individual – and
my staff felt it important to contribute and were happy to do
so with enthusiasm.”
Jonathan Yavelow, who co-chairs the campaign with Robbins, added,
“I hope for us all to see Rider University as a worthy source
of our own philanthropy. Many of the foundations and corporations
we approach for support hold considerable weight to our published
participation rates – for both alumni and faculty and staff.
This is why this is such wonderful news!”
The Committee encourages each of their colleagues to consider
making a gift, of any amount, to the Campaign before June 30.
“There are so many different programs on both campuses
that would benefit from our support,” said Nancy Kennedy,
assistant director of student financial services. “Whether
you choose to make your gift to the Annual Fund or an area such
as Athletics or the College of Business Administration, or to
one of the University’s many scholarships and endowments
– know that your gift is important and needed.”
When asked what she would like to see come of her department’s
accomplishment, Robbins said, “I’d like to use this
opportunity to challenge other departments to reach 100 percent
participation by year’s end. In particular, I’d like
to put the Admissions Office up to the task! They are a great
bunch and I think a little inter-departmental competition is healthy
for all of us – plus it’s for a good cause! So Admissions
– are you up to the challenge?”
