First Annual Black Male Conference

Michael Hector, a senior marketing major, was one of 25 African American male Rider students and alumni recognized for his leadership abilities at Rider's first annual Black Male Conference during Black History Month. The conference, which took place in the Bart Luedeke Center Cavalla Room, was hosted by Rasheed-Ali Cromwell, Esq., an associate at a Washington, D.C.-based intellectual property law firm, and founder of The Harbor Institute, an educational firm that offers programs designed to empower minority students personally, culturally, professionally, economically and politically. Topics of discussion included personal leadership, student leadership and organizational management. A networking dinner followed.

Senior Send Off

The Senior Send Off will be held in BLC 245 on Wednesday, April 11. This is an opportunity for seniors to take care of their needs in one place. They can pick up caps and gowns from noon to 7 p.m. Also during that day, they can meet with Financial Aid to conduct exit interviews, speak with Career Services about job searches, purchase diploma frames and class rings, and sign up for Senior Last Call (formerly Senior Week) from noon to 5 p.m.

Senior Ball

The Senior Ball will take place Friday, April 20 from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Celebrations in Bensalem, PA. Tickets are on sale through April 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the ticket booth in the BLC. Tickets are $65 per person and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Parties of 10 can reserve a table, with payment. Tickets may also be ordered by contacting Melissa Vidam at vidam@rider.edu. There are no refunds on tickets sales. Everyone attending the Senior Ball must travel on the bus, which will depart from the BLC at 7:15 p.m.

Senior Last Call

All seniors are invited to participate in Senior Last Call, previously called Senior Week, this year. The cost is $200 ($100 deposit and $100 activity fee). The fun will start Wednesday, May 9 and will continue through Friday, May 11. Events include dinner at Amalfi's in Lawrenceville, a trip to Bar Anticipation, a barbecue, and Last Call in the Pub. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. The only opportunity to sign up for Senior Last Call will be at the Senior Send-off on Wednesday, April 11.
