ACHIEVERS
• Nine Rider University seniors and an administrator
were recognized by the New Jersey Educational Opportunity Fund
(EOF) Professional Association during its annual conference
in Atlantic City on March 20. The honorees for Outstanding Academic
Achievement (earning grade point averages of at least 3.5) were:
Liliana Barreto of Hamilton, biology major, Jessica Reid of
Burlington, a biopsychology major; and La Mecia Tiggett of Burlington,
a liberal studies major. The honorees for Academic Achievement
(earning grade point averages from 3.2 to 3.4) were: Christina
Contreras of Monmouth Junction, a business administration major;
Jennifer Avenoso of Waretown, a psychology major; Stephanie
Hensle of North Bergen, an English major; Sixto Sanchez of Perth
Amboy, a finance major; and Kelly Speed of Trenton, an elementary
education/fine arts major. Finally, Arturo Perez of Pennsauken,
a finance major, was honored for Outstanding Achievement (exemplifying
the spirit and intent of the EOF program). Dr. Phyllis Frakt,
vice president emerita and special assistant to the president
of Rider University, was honored as an EOF Champion, along with
faculty and staff from other institutions throughout New Jersey.

•Thirty-five Rider University seniors have been selected
for inclusion in the 2007 edition of “Who’s Who
Among Students in American Universities and Colleges,”
a publication that recognizes outstanding leaders on campus
both in and out of the classroom. Academic achievement, community
service, proven leadership in extracurricular activities and
potential for continued success are important selection criteria.
Students from more than 2,300 institutions in all 50 states,
the District of Columbia and several foreign nations share this
elite honor. This annual directory has been recognizing outstanding
students since 1934.
The 2007 Rider honorees and their majors in alphabetical order
