Kappa Delta Pi International Education Honor Society (KDP) Induction Ceremony

Forty-seven candidates were inducted into the Rider University chapter of the Kappa Delta Pi International Education Honor Society (KDP) in spring 2007. The annual KDP induction ceremony was held at Rider in the Fireside Lounge on Sunday, April 29. Candidates for membership in the Alpha Beta Theta chapter of KDP maintain a 3.0 grade point average and participate in chapter activities, such as service to children and schools, fundraising, and social events. • Dr. Jeff Halpern, associate professor of sociology, was elected chair of the Collective Bargaining Congress (CBC) of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) on June 8. The CBC is an umbrella organization of local AAUP collective bargaining chapters and affiliates <http://www.aaup.org/AAUP/About/cbc/colbargainchap.htm>. Its purpose is to develop and disseminate information and resources in support of the collective bargaining activities of local AAUP chapters and affiliates, and to engage in other activities in support of higher education collective bargaining. Currently, the CBC comprises the more than 70 AAUP chapters and affiliates who are the collective bargaining agents for over 100,000 faculty and other academic professionals.
