Westminster Conservatory at Nassau Recital Featuring Music of Women Composers May 17

Westminster Conservatory at Nassau, a series of free noontime recitals, will conclude its fifth season of concerts at 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, in the Niles Chapel of Nassau Presbyterian Church, 61 Nassau Street in Princeton. Katherine McClure, flute, and Esma Pasic-Filipovic and Larissa Korkina, piano, all members of the Westminster Conservatory faculty, will perform a program featuring women composers. The program includes two compositions for flute and piano – Clara Schumann’s “Three Romances” and a selection from American composer Amy Beach’s “Sonata in A Minor;” and two compositions for piano, four hands – Fanny Mendelssohn’s “Three Pieces” and the “Nottorno, op. 99” by Johann Nepomuk Hummel.

Westminster Conservatory Faculty Recital “Cantare e Sonare” on May 20

Rider instructor and baritone Timothy Urban and guests will perform vocal and instrumental music of the Baroque by J.S. Bach, C.P.E. Bach, Handel, Telemann, Hotteterre and Quantz in a Westminster Conservatory faculty recital entitled “Cantare e Sonare” on Sunday, May 20 at 3 p.m. in Bristol Chapel on the Westminster campus. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors and are available by calling the Westminster box office at 609-921-2663. Students, faculty and staff receive one free ticket with a valid Rider ID.

Westminster Community Orchestra Concert “To the Sky and Heavens” on May 20

The Westminster Community Orchestra, conducted by Ruth Ochs, will present a concert entitled “To the Sky and Heavens” on Sunday, May 20 at 3 p.m. in the Princeton Regional Schools Performing Arts Center at Princeton High School. The repertoire includes Mozart’s Symphony No. 31 “Jupiter”; Vaughan Williams’ “The Lark Ascending” featuring Ileana Ciumac, violin; and Holst’s “The Planets.” Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors and are available by calling the Westminster box office at 609-921-2663. Students, faculty and staff receive one free ticket with a valid Rider ID.

Westminster Community Chorus and Chamber Choir Concert “I’m Gonna Sing” on June 2

Rider Assistant Professor and soprano Rochelle Ellis joins the Westminster Community Chorus and Chamber Choir from Westminster Conservatory for a concert of spirituals, partsongs and quartets including Brahms’ popular “Ziguenerlieder” (Gypsy Songs) on Saturday, June 2 at 8 p.m. in Bristol Chapel on the Westminster campus. Devin Mariman is the conductor of both ensembles, and the concert is entitled “I’m Gonna Sing.” Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors and are available by calling the Westminster box office at 609-921-2663. Students, faculty and staff receive one free ticket with a valid Rider ID.
