Student Support Services (SSS)
• Lynn Brown, a senior journalism major; Alvin Desrosiers,
a senior business administration major; Georgina Blackwell,
a junior secondary education/French major; Stella Hickman, a
senior human resource management major; Davida Brown, a senior
fine arts major; Joshabel De La Cruz, a sophomore global and
multinational studies major; Nilsa Britto, a senior communication
major; Kenneth Jacobs, a freshman journalism major; Uchenna
Duru, a junior human resource management major; Lauren Thomas,
a sophomore journalism major, and Markus Stegers, a senior journalism
major, wrote articles for “The SSS Newsletter.”
• Jamie Papapetros, a junior communication major, is the
opinion editor of “The Rider News.”
• Blackwell studied in Paris last fall.
• Community Scholars Duru and Joseph Lucchio, a junior
secondary education/history major, worked in an orphanage in
Santo Domingo; De La Cruz tutored children in Jamaica; and Hickman
tutored students in China. Alexandra Samuel, a junior journalism
major, will study in Fuzhou, China, this summer. Duru will be
a project coordinator for a service learning trip to Belize
this summer.
• Ashley Kessler, a sophomore elementary education/psychology
major, has been accepted into Rider’s School of Education.
Completing their student teaching experiences are Kiel Ridolfino,
a senior elementary education/communication major, Katie Urffer,
a senior business education major, and Katherine Hammons, a
senior elementary education/American Studies major.
• Jovania Martinez, a senior marketing major, and Giselle
Cardona, a senior marketing major, sponsored a March of Dimes
campaign for Lambda Tau Alpha.
• De La Cruz will work as an intern with the American
International Group, a major insurance corporation with an office
in Berkeley Heights; Duru, an intern in the human resources
department at Rider; Jessica Schiowitz, a sophomore history
major, an intern in the Riderana Archives department; and Davida
Brown is an office and marketing assistant intern at Passage
Theater Company in Trenton.
• Tony Butch, a senior marketing major; Brown, and Thomas
are student aides in the SSS office. Butch has accepted a job
offer from Canon in Burlington to work as an account representative.
