Tabs Lorenzet Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs

Dr. Steven J. Lorenzet, associate
professor of management and human resources, has been appointed
associate dean for undergraduate programs in the College of Business
Administration (CBA).
“Steve will be a tremendous addition to the leadership
team in the CBA, and I know that our students will be well served
by his leadership,” said Dr. Larry Newman,
CBA dean.
In addition to his teaching duties, Lorenzet has been involved
in a variety of business school programs. During the past year,
he served as director of the MBA program and director of the CREWW
program, a co-curricular activity that develops students’
interpersonal and leadership skills. He also served as special
assistant to the dean this past spring semester.
Since joining the Rider business faculty in 2000, he has taught
a variety of human resources courses. His areas of expertise are
in training and development, continuous learning, employee motivation
and leadership.
He has published extensively and has been the recipient of several
awards for his scholarly activity. Just recently, an article “Benefiting
from mistakes: the impact of guided errors on learning, performance,
and self efficacy”, published in the "Human Resource
Development Quarterly" was honored by receiving a special
Citation of Excellence award from Emerald Management Reviews.
This honor is reserved for 50 out of 15,000 articles reviewed
each year.
He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Albany, SUNY in human
resource management and organizational behavior. His master of
arts and bachelor of science degrees are from Towson University.
