Construction at the front
end of Moore Library began in early February. The focus
of the activity is the creation of an extended hours study
lounge on the north side of the front of the building.
Open both during regular library hours and late night
hours during spring and fall semesters and exams, the
facility will provide a comfortable, attractive, and food
friendly place to read and study. Wireless capability
will provide laptop access to the libraries' electronic
resources as well as the broad resources of the Internet.
Both President Mordechai Rozanski and
Dean of University Libraries F. William Chickering
have been heavily involved in making this plan come to
fruition. President Rozanski has continued to support
his commitment to the libraries' role in the academic
process by raising the funds to make this project possible.
It is hoped that the modest inconvenience and periodic
noise will be a small concern in comparison to the value
of this new amenity.
