Westminster Jubilee Singers to present a Concert Celebrating Black History Month on Feb. 11

The evening of Saturday, February 11 will be filled with inspiration and joy as the Westminster Jubilee Singers present their winter concert at 8 p.m. in Bristol Chapel on the Westminster campus. In honor of Black History Month, the performance will feature the music for which this lively and popular ensemble has become known - music from the African-American experience, spirituals, hymns and gospel songs. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Students, faculty and staff receive one free ticket with a valid Rider ID. They can be purchased at the Westminster box office weekdays between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. or by calling 609-921-2663.

"Organ Masterworks" Recital with Diane Meredith Belcher on February 12

The Westminster Choir College Faculty Recital Series continues on Sunday, February 12 with a recital presented by organist Diane Meredith Belcher in Bristol Chapel on the Westminster campus. The program entitled "Organ Masterworks" will begin at 3 p.m. It will include Alain's Suite for Organ, Franck's Grand Piece Symphonique, and Bach's Concerto in D minor for Two Violins arranged by Belcher. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors/students. Students, faculty and staff receive two free tickets with a valid Rider ID. Westminster Conservatory Faculty Recital in Yardley, PA on February 12

At 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, Westminster Conservatory will present a faculty recital featuring the music of Mozart at the Church of the Incarnation, 1505 Makefield Road, in Yardley, PA. The performers will be Clipper Erickson, piano; Kevin Willois, flute; Melissa Bohl, oboe; Marjorie Selden, viola; Carol Redfield Vizzini, ’cello; and guest artist Andrew Kirkman, violin. This recital and the opening of a new extension site for music instruction at St. Ignatius of Antioch School in Yardley are part of Westminster Conservatory's expanded activity into Bucks County. Westminster Conservatory at Nassau Presbyterian Church February 16

At 12:15 p.m. Thursday, February 16, Westminster Conservatory at Nassau will present Gavin Black playing historic keyboards in a free recital in the Niles Chapel of Nassau Presbyterian Church, 61 Nassau Street in Princeton. Black is a faculty member of Westminster Conservatory. The program includes music of the 17th-century performed on several different Baroque keyboard instruments. This program is made possible in part by the Mercer County Cultural and Heritage Commission through funding from the Mercer County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.

Rider Fine Arts Department Presents "The Servant of Two Masters"

"The Servant of Two Masters" is being presented by the Rider Fine Arts Department in The Fine Arts Studio Theater on the Lawrenceville campus Thursday and Friday, February 16 and 17, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, February 23, 24 and 25 at 8 p.m. and on Saturday, February 18 and 25 at 2 p.m. It will also be presented on Tuesday, February 21 at 8 p.m. in The Playhouse on the Westminster campus. The play is written by Carlo Goldoni and is translated and adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher and Paolo Emilio Landi. It is directed by Miriam Mills and is a wildly funny, inventive and often hysterical play about lust, greed and the law. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. Westminster Conservatory Faculty Recital February 18

There will be a Westminster Conservatory piano and flute recital on Saturday, February 18 at 8 p.m. at Gill Chapel on the Lawrenceville campus presented by Bing Bing Chang, piano, and Linda Chatterton (Yamaha performing artist from Minnesota), with guest artists Yuan Xie, tenor and Yan Liu, soprano and narrator. They will perform works by Schubert, Schoenfield, Tsybin and others as well as Chinese songs. They will also present the debut of Xing Jiang Dance of China - On the Silk Road (2005) by Lu Pei and White, Peace, Snow Mountains (January, 2006) by Jean Y. Sze, with text by Chang Hua Zou and John Gracen Brown. There is no charge for this performance.

Margaret Cusack and J. J. Penna Faculty Recital on February 19

Soprano Margaret Cusack and pianist J. J. Penna will present a Westminster Faculty Recital entitled "German and Italian Song in the 20th-Century" on Sunday, February 19 at 3 p.m. in Bristol Chapel, on the Westminster campus. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Students, faculty and staff receive two free tickets with a valid Rider ID. Uppsala Choir from Sweden Will Perform February 22

The Academy Chamber choir of Uppsala, conducted by Stefan Parkman, will present a concert in Bristol Chapel on the Westminster campus on Wednesday, February 22 at 8 p.m. The program will include Rachmaninov's Vespers. Westminster Williamson Voices Concert on February 24 Cancelled

The Westminster Williamson Voices concert entitled "Music of Light" on Friday, February 24 at 8 p.m. in Bristol Chapel on the Westminster campus has been cancelled.

Westminster Visiting Artist Series Presenting a Recital and Master Class February 18 and 19

There will be a recital by pianist John Ellis on Saturday, February 18 at 7:30 p.m. in Bristol Chapel on the Westminster campus. He will also be leading a master class on Sunday, February 19 at 1:30 p.m. in Williamson Hall which will feature piano students of the Westminster piano faculty. Ellis is assistant professor of piano at the University of Michigan where he is director of graduate studies in piano pedagogy and in charge of the piano pedagogy laboratory program. While maintaining a college and pre-college piano studio, he is also sought after as a recitalist, lecturer, clinician and adjudicator. Both events are free and open to the public.
