Black History Month

"Connecting Gaps to the Past, Building Bridges for the Future," is the theme of Rider University's month-long tribute to Black History Month, sponsored by the Center for Multicultural Affairs and Community Service, Black Student Union and other campus groups. Wanted: Orientation Student Staff Members

The Office of Orientation is starting the application process for Orientation Staff 2006. These seven students coordinate spring testing, summer orientation and fall opening. They receive a generous salary and are selected as representatives of the University for the incoming freshmen class. Interested students should attend one of two information sessions on Wednesday, February 8 at 5:30 p.m. or Thursday, February 9 at 11:30 a.m. in BLC 257. Students can also pick up an application and ask questions by stopping in the New Student Resource Center, BLC 262, or contacting Christine Carter at x5373, ccarter@rider.edu.

University Ball

The Third Annual University Ball will take place Saturday, February 18 from 6 to 11 p.m. in the Bart Luedeke Center (BLC) Cavalla Room. The black and white semi-formal dinner dance is open to the entire Rider niversity community on both its Lawrenceville and Princeton campuses - including alumni. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the ticket booth in the BLC from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday. Bronc I.D.s must be shown at the door. Each Rider member can invite one guest. Everyone may request songs to be played by the deejay by sending an e-mail message to yourdeejays@hotmail.com. For more information, call Melissa Vidam at (609) 219-2907 or at vidam@rider.edu.

Bid Day

Bid Day is held at the close of the official recruitment period each semester. This semester it is Friday, February 10 from 4 to 5 p.m. outside the Bart Luedeke Center (BLC). At this time, the fraternities and sororities distribute their invitations to membership and celebrate the newest members of their chapters.
