  • Rebecca Basham, assistant professor of English, won the Best New Play for 2005 Award by the San Diego Theatre Critics Circle for her lesbian comedy, "Wrinkles." The play was performed last January. It was Besham's second play performed at the Diversionary Theatre; her previous show was "Lot's Daughters," the theater's first world premiere production in years. While attending a prestigious playwriting conference in Washington, D.C., Kennedy Center, American College Theater Festival in 2003, Basham began work on "Wrinkles." She returned to San Diego to accept the award at a ceremony on January 30.
