Rider University will confer more than 1,100 undergraduate and graduate degrees and award two honorary degrees at its 141st commencement ceremony on Friday, May 12 on the Lawrenceville campus. That same day, 109 undergraduate and graduate degrees and one honorary degree will be awarded on Rider’s Westminster Choir College campus in Princeton at its 77th Commencement ceremony.

The Lawrenceville campus ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the procession on the Campus Green. The Westminster Choir College ceremony, distinguished by outstanding choral, organ and and brass performances, will begin with pre-ceremony music at 3:15 p.m. and the procession at 4 p.m.

At a reception in her honor, Dr. Phyllis Frakt was feted for her 32 years of service to Rider University by faculty, staff, administrators, President Emeritus Bart Luedeke, and a choir comprised of Rider’s 50 Sanda students. more info...

Rusciano Publishes Book on Global Rage after Cold War

Dr. Frank Rusciano, professor of political science at Rider University, has published a new book entitled "Global Rage after the Cold War" by Palgrave Publishers. more info...

Rider faculty and academic student affairs administrators will examine critical issues in higher education at Rider on Thursday, May 18 during the eighth annual Faculty Development Day. The day’s theme is “Learner-Centered Teaching: Improving Student Performance and Instructor Satisfaction.” more info...

In Memoriam

With deepest regret, Rider University announces the death of Walter L. Wahlen, who served the University as its chief development and public relations person for 36 years. Mr. Wahlen, 77, passed away on Sunday, May 6. A 1949 graduate of Rider, he served as vice president for development and college relations before his departure in 1985. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Walter L. Wahlen Scholarship at Rider University.

Library Hours
Moore Library has released its summer library schedule for Summer Session I: May 15 - June 28. Library hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Fridays May 19, 26, June 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 from 8 a.m. to noon; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.. On Thursday, June 29, it will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Library will be closed for Memorial Day Weekend May 28, 29 and July 4 Weekend July 1-4.
Westminster Campus
At Talbott Library (Main Floor), the summer library hours for early summer are: May 13-June 24, Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon; closed on weekends. Talbott will be closed for Memorial Day, Monday, May 29. From June 25 - August 5, library hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; closed on Saturday; Sunday evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. It will be open on July 3 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., closed on Tuesday, July 4; and open Saturdays, July 15, 22 and 29 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m . The Performance Collection: May 13-June 24, Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon; June 25-August 5, Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.. It will be open July 3 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and closed July 4.
Student Art Exhibition
Rider's Annual Student Art Exhibition will take place through Sept 4 in the Rider University Art Gallery. The show features the work of art majors and minors, non art majors and any student who has taken art courses during the fall and spring semesters. Come and support your classmates and friends.
