Dorothy Warner, associate professor-librarian, received the American Association of University Professor’s (AAUP) John Long Memorial Award on April 29. The award is presented in appreciation for untiring and devoted service to the Rider University Chapter of the AAUP.

Dr. Jeffrey Halpern, associate professor of sociology, was one of 10 faculty members across the country elected to the American Association of University Professors' (AAUP) National Council, the governing body of the Association. Council members serve for three years and assume office following the Association's annual meeting in June. The members were elected from 10 geographic districts representing colleges and universities in the United States, Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. The AAUP promotes academic freedom by supporting tenure, academic due process, and standards of quality in higher education. It has approximately 45,000 members at colleges and universities throughout the United States.
