Anwar Robinson, a member of the
Class of 2001 of Westminster Choir College of Rider University,
is now among the 11 finalists in the "American Idol" competition
on Fox television.
Once again, be sure to watch "American Idol" on Fox television
at 8 p.m. EST tonight, March 22, to see Anwar perform with the
ten other finalists. Then tune in at 9 p.m. EST Wednesday, to
learn if he makes the next cut among the finalists.
You may want to take advantage of the "American Idol" TV watching party in the Bronc Diner tonight. At 8 p.m., a large projection screen television will be tuned to the popular show, and students, faculty and staff can watch the program and cheer on Anwar. Free food will also be available. Following the program, a phone bank will be available from 9-11 p.m. to cast your vote.
Most importantly, don't forget to cast your vote for Anwar. The
telephone number to call is displayed on the screen as each contestant
performs. Following the show, there is a two-hour time frame when
people can cast their votes by phone. You can also go to the "American
Idol" site at www.idolonfox.com
to gain more information about the competition.
If you can't watch the show and still want to vote, call 609-219-2001
on Tuesday evening for the number to vote for Anwar. Try voting
between 10 and 11 p.m. when the phone lines are more open.
Each week contestants are required to sing something in a particular
style or period of music. Last week's challenge was to sing something
from the 60s. Anwar's rendition of "A House Is Not a Home"
once again earned Paula Abdul's praise - not only for his wonderful
voice, but also for his style. Be sure to tune in on Tuesday to
see how Anwar meets this week's challenge.
