Rider to Confer Honorary Degrees
on Schweiker, Palmer – Rider University will confer honorary
Doctor of Laws degrees on Mark S. Schweiker, the former governor
of Pennsylvania, and Douglas H. Palmer, mayor of the city of Trenton,
at its 139th commencement on Friday, May 14. (Newswire will
highlight Westminster Choir College's commencement, also scheduled
for May 14, in its May 4th issue.)

– Tom Papa, a 1990 communication graduate and star of several
Rider Theatre productions, will have his own sitcom, Come to
Papa, air on NBC beginning in June.
Lackie Named NJ Librarian of the Year -
Robert J. Lackie, an assistant professor-librarian at Rider
University, has been named Librarian of the Year by the New Jersey
Library Association (NJLA).
Pittaro to be Honored at Final Home
Baseball Game - Rider University head baseball coach Sonny
Pittaro, who is retiring after 34 seasons and more than 750
wins, will be honored by 'The Friends of Rider Baseball' at the
final home game of the 2004 season, May 22.
