Rozanski Envisions Rider a Leading University Dedicated to Student
Success – Dr. Mordechai Rozanski, who was installed
as Rider’s sixth president on Friday, said in his inaugural
address he envisions Rider as a leading university devoted to student
success in life and career through excellence in teaching, learning
and scholarship in the practical liberal arts.

Hall Expansion, Student Recreation Center – President
Mordechai Rozanski and members of the Board of Trustees broke ground
on Thursday (April 1) for a $16 million program of campus renovation
and building projects that will transform the look of the Lawrenceville
campus’ main mall.
Prober Receives Nancy Gray Award -
Dr. Larry Prober, associate professor of accounting, is this
year’s recipient of the prestigious Nancy Gray Award.
Model United Nations Team Competes
in New York - Representing Belgium, Rider’s Model United Nations
(MUN) Team 2004 has traveled to New York for the annual competition
by the National Collegiate Conference Association (NCCA). This international
event in practical diplomacy began April 5 and continues through
Saturday, April 10 at the Hilton Hotel in New York City and at the
United Nations.
Golski Seeks Volunteers for Aging
Study – Dr. Stephanie Golski, assistant professor
of psychology, is conducting research on memory and aging for persons
age 55 or older. While she has secured several volunteers, she
also seeks volunteers older than 55 (faculty, staff, spouses, relatives,
etc.) from the Rider community. For information, call Dr. Golski

Two Students, Faculty
Member Honored at Gender Studies Colloquium - At Rider
University’s Gender Studies Colloquium, Shirley Thomas, a
senior liberal arts and social work major, and Melanie Vega,
a junior psychology major, received Gender Studies scholarship
awards. Dr. Gerald Klein, associate professor of organizational
behavior and management, was also honored with the Ziegler-Gee Award.

| Senior
Combines Passion for Research with Community Service -
Maia Lopez, a senior chemistry major at Rider, is
just as comfortable conducting chemical research as she is
tutoring children at the Trenton After School Program. Both
activities allow her to share her passion for learning.
“I like analyzing the how and why of things,” said Lopez.
“I also love to encourage children to do the same whether
it is a reading assignment or activities related to math or
science. The discovery of new things is a very exciting process.”

Catone Rider Athletes of Month - Softball player Heather
Beintema and wrestler Nick Catone have been named
the Rider University Athletes of the Month for all competition
in March.
College Softball - Rider University's
Heather Beintema was named the Eastern College Athletic
Conference as well as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference
Pitcher of the Week for all softball games played March 22-28.
Rider Finishes
13th at Navy Invitational - The Broncs finished in 13th
place in the 23-team field at the 25th Annual Navy Spring
Invitational.
College Track
& Field - The Broncs competed at the Howell Invitational
Saturday, hosted by Princeton University.
College Softball
- The Broncs swept Saint Peter's in a Metro Atlantic Athletic
Conference doubleheader Saturday.
