Initial Course Selection for Fall 2003 Yields Positive WebAdvisor Results

During Rider’s recently concluded initial course selection period for Fall 2003, 68 percent of all eligible undergraduate students selected courses online with the assistance of WebAdvisor. Out of the 2,046 day students, 1501 course selected via WebAdvisor -- approximately 73 percent.
That’s all good news, according to Sue Stefanick, registrar. “We’re definitely seeing an increase in online course selection and a decrease in the number of students having to wait in long lines in our office. Students are finding that it is easier, quicker, and more efficient to course select online using our WebAdvisor system.”
This semester, WebAdvisor services became available for College of Continuing Studies students (CCS) and for those who were first-time freshmen last fall. Eighty-eight students received the instructor’s approval for Permission of Instructor courses via the Web, and were able to register for those courses online.
Students may continue to use WebAdvisor to make schedule changes up until fall 2003 classes begin. Access to WebAdvisor and a variety of training materials is provided through the Rider homepage at www.rider.edu by clicking on the “WebAdvisor” link from the QuickLinks drop-down menu. Step-by-step instructions are available on handout sheets in the registrar’s office located in the Fine Arts Building, room 117.
For further assistance, students, faculty and staff may call (609) 896-5066 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekday, or send their questions via e-mail to webadvisor@rider.edu, where inquiries are monitored round-the-clock on a daily basis.
