    OIT: The Next Generation

In December, 2002, the office of information technologies (OIT) underwent a major reorganization. The goals of the reorganization was to improve an organizational structure that seemed complex and confusing, realign staff in ways that would make more efficient use of OIT resources, facilitate better communication and collaboration, and fill service gaps as resources would allow.
The new OIT has five new functional units. The office of support services led by Krystyna Rykowski, the office of network and communication services led by Timothy Fairlie, the office of instructional technology led by John LeMasney, the office of application at support services at Westminster led by Edward Hetzelson, and the office of application and web services where a search is underway for a director.
We expect the transition to the new organization to take some time to implement. We will send out additional information on services provided by each of these offices as it becomes available. If you are unsure about who to contact for a particular service please contact our main department number (609) 896-5196 or call the help desk at X7000.
We are very excited about the new organization and the look forward to working with the Rider community to enhance the technology environment at Rider. For a high level or detailed chart of our new organization please visit: http://www.rider.edu/technology/documents/organization/.

    Mission

The office of information technologies mission is to help the entire Rider community use technology effectively in teaching, learning, and other academic efforts. It is our duty to keep the technology that is in place working well, and to introduce new technologies that will continue to keep Rider on top of technology developments. Above all, it is our goal to be a helping hand, a resource of friendly assistance, and a source for inspiration regarding the use of technology to make teaching, learning and working in an academic environment the best possible experience that it can be.
