Undergraduate SBI Team Places Second Nationally – Rider University's Small Business Institute undergraduate consulting team has placed second in the nation in case-of-the-year competition sponsored by the Small Business Institute Directors Association. The team's achievement adds to the remarkable success of the SBI program. For the story, click here.

Westminster Choir, Rider Travel Course Highlight Spoleto USA –  For the second year, Dr. John Sullivan, professor of English and director of the American Studies department at Rider, is planning a visit to historic Charleston, SC, to attend the Spoleto USA Festival. The trip, in fact, is a travel course open to students, faculty, staff on both campuses and alumni. The main treat: hearing Westminster Choir, the chorus- in-residence for the festival perform. Rider Student Named Minority Academic Careers Program Fellow – Rider junior Juan Nuñez, a political science and theater major, has been named a Minority Academic Careers (MAC) Program Fellow. Nuñez is one of 15 fellows selected from New Jersey to receive this highly competitive fellowship. For more information, click here.

Author to Discuss the Contemporary Romance Novel –  Shirley Hailstock, a prolific romance author of 12 novels and president-elect of Romance Writers of America, will talk about the contemporary romance novel and read from her work February 18 at 7 p.m. in Sweigart Hall Auditorium. Students Survey Patrons of Soup Kitchen – Committed to making course material more meaningful for students, Rider faculty have an opportunity to participate in community-based service learning opportunities. Rider's Porter All-District 3 - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the NABC/Pontiac Division I All-District teams, and Rider senior forward Mario Porter, a marketing major, was named to the second team All-District 3.  For the story, click here.
Rider Ends Marist Jinx - Rider men's basketball beats Marist for the first time in 12 tries and grabs sole possession of first place in the MAAC.  For the story, click here.
Indoor Track at MAAC Championships -
Both the Rider men's and women's teams placed runner-up to host Manhattan College at the MAAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on February 16.  Rider head coach Bill Hodge was named the women's Coach of the Year and  senior Will Zimmerman, computer information systems, earned  co-Most Valuable Performer honors.  For the story, click here.
