Bonner Scholars Attend Three Day Workshop

Representatives from Rider Community Scholars/ Bonner Leaders had the opportunity to travel to Lynchburg College in Virginia for a three-day Bonner Congress meeting from October 19-21, 2007. They were able to network with their peers in Bonner programs across the country, attend student-led workshops, and plan and develop action plans for 2007-2008 academic year for the national Bonner community. Rider’s Cranberry Court Announced During Family Day Festivities

Among the special highlights of Rider University’s 2007 Family Day was the crowning of the Cranberry King and Queen and the announcement of the Cranberry Court. Two seniors were selected based upon their embodiment of campus pride, spirit and commitment to community service.

Named members of the Cranberry Court were (from far left to right): Colleen Kelly, a senior communication major; Theresa Androvett, a senior communication major; Laura Franko, a senior communication major; Michele Domalewski; a senior management and leadership major; Maria Panvini; a senior fine arts major, named Cranberry Queen; Travarus Fauntleroy; a senior psychology major, named Cranberry King; Mike Sculli; a senior political science and communication major; Davendra Brijlall, a senior business economics major; Ryan Sydorko, a senior accounting major; and Matthew Hanson, a senior marketing major.

Rider Students, Faculty Raise More than $300 for Autism Research

On Sunday, October 21, several Rider students and faculty participated in the 2007 Central New Jersey Walk Now for Autism, raising more than $300 for autism research. Students from the Rider Student Council for Exceptional Children volunteered, donated funds and walked with many families, organizations and supporters. Dr. Diane Giannola and Dr. Michele Kamens from the Department of Teacher Education, two of the three co-advisers to the CEC chapter, also attended. Rider CEC student Shannon Flannery coordinated the Rider CEC Team. Over $200,000 in total was raised during the walk.
