Princeton, Lawrenceville Campuses to Celebrate Family Weekend, Founder’s Day
Family Day 2006

On Friday, October 26 and Saturday, October 27, Westminster Choir College will celebrate its Family Weekend on the Princeton campus, and Rider’s Lawrenceville campus will hold its annual Family Day festivities on November 3.

The Westminster campus invites families to choir and theater rehearsals, concerts, class sessions, and a Coffeehouse, where parents can socialize while students display their talents. The weekend will end with a Chapel Choir concert at Princeton High School and a closing family reception in the Playhouse. In addition to the families, all members of the campus community are invited to join the festivities.

On the Lawrenceville campus, activities will include family educational sessions, a Family Day luncheon, open houses, campus hayrides, musical entertainment and the crowning of the new Cranberry King and Queen.

Founder’s Day

A special highlight of Rider’s Family Day on Saturday, November 3 is the Founder’s Day awards ceremony, a tradition that honors Rider’s top students as Andrew J. Rider Scholars. The program begins at 11 a.m. in the Bart Luedeke Center Theater. The Scholars have been selected based on their grade point averages in the past year.

The award, named for Rider’s founder and first president, honors the top one percent of sophomores, juniors and seniors in each of Rider’s five academic colleges and schools – the College of Business Administration, the School of Education, the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the College of Continuing Studies, and Westminster Choir College.

During the program, Dr. John Baer, professor of education, will receive the Dominick A. Iorio Faculty Research Award. Dr. Barry Truchil, associate professor of sociology, will give the faculty address and Ruth R. Rodriguez, a senior from the College of Continuing Studies, will deliver the student address. President Mordechai Rozanski will award certificates to 57 students during the ceremony.
