Rider Community Participates in Heart Walk
Nearly 50 members of the Rider community from the Lawrenceville and Princeton campuses came out in full force Sunday, September 16, to participate in the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk. The Rider community pulled together on that sunny day to raise nearly $5,000 to help combat heart disease. This was the second consecutive year that Rider partnered with the AHA to support this worthy cause.

23rd Annual Athletics Golf Gala

Olde York Country Club in Chesterfield, N.J., provided the perfect venue for the 23rd Annual Athletics Golf Gala outing on Monday, September 17. One hundred sixty eight participants teed it up during two shotgun starts in a fun scramble format. Scores were generally low, as the brilliant weather produced pristine scoring conditions for all golfers. Pictured above (l to r), Rider Athletics Director Don Harnum congratulates the winning foursome of Jerry Coscia '87, Golf Gala Committee Chair; Dan Faber, executive director of the National Junior Tennis League of Trenton; and Mike Minter, financial advisor for Merrill Lynch, who partnered with Frank Lucchesi, not pictured, to shoot an impressive 15-under-par 56. Golf was followed by a cocktail reception and buffet dinner where guests enjoyed a seafood bar, carving station and ice cream sundaes while placing their bids on several silent auction items. A great time was had by all participants, but the Rider Athletics program was the true beneficiary as more than $100,000.00 was raised to support its 20 NCAA Division I teams.
