Rider Repeats in Top Tier in U.S. News & World Report Rankings

Rider University achieved a #32 ranking in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2008 edition of America’s Best Colleges and is again ranked in the top tier of the Best Universities – Master’s North category.
Compared to last year, Rider’s overall point score increased to 58 from 55. Two notable areas of improvement were in the percentage of Rider freshmen who were in the top quartile of their high school class and in the University’s admissions selectivity.

In addition to the U.S. News rankings, Princeton Review has ranked Rider among its Best 366 Colleges in the nation for 2008. Both U.S. News and Princeton Review have ranked Rider favorably in their respective surveys for several years.

“These rankings are one popular measure of an institution’s reputational stature, and our comparable standing to last year is a tribute to our talented and dedicated faculty, staff and administrators,” said Rider President Mordechai Rozanski. “Ultimately, one of the best measures of the quality and fit of a university is a personal visit to meet faculty and students and experience the student-centered character of the learning community. That’s where we excel at Rider.”

Premier national accreditation in business, accounting, chemistry, teacher education, music and counseling services also validate the University’s academic stature.

The undergraduate and graduate business and accounting programs in the College of Business Administration are accredited by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Rider is the only public or private college or university in New Jersey to hold this accreditation for both its business and accounting programs. Elementary and secondary education programs and their applicable graduate programs on both Rider’s Lawrenceville campus and Westminster Choir College campus in Princeton are accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). The undergraduate and graduate music programs of the Choir College are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). Rider’s chemistry program is accredited by the American Chemical Society (ACS).

In addition, Rider’s graduate counseling services program in the School of Education holds the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) national accreditation.
