• Molly DeSesso ’02, business education, served
as director of the iD Tech Camp located on the Rider University
campus this past summer. DeSesso oversaw a team of counselors
who taught the fundamentals of video game creation, 3D modeling,
video editing, programming, robotics and designing Web sites.
She recently graduated from Columbia University with a master’s
degree in instructional design of educational technology. She
has since worked for the Department of Education, developing
technology standards, and has designed several curricula that
are being implemented in the Flemington-Raritan School District.
iD Tech Camps, the largest summer computer camp in the country,
is based in Campbell, Calif.
• Rubin Joyner ’73, director of the Educational
Opportunity Program (EOP) at Rider, was featured as “Person
of the Month” in The Fourth Estate, a monthly publication
serving the communities of Trenton, Lawrence, Ewing, Hamilton
and Princeton. It was founded by Lesley B. Carter ’82,
journalism, publisher/editor-in-chief.
• Brian David Solomon ’91, accounting/history, received
the Delran Township Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Emergency
Medical Technician (EMT) of the Year award in April 2007, the
Burlington County District 11 VFW EMT of the Year award in May
2007 and the New Jersey State VFW EMT of the Year award in June
2007. Solomon, in his seventh year as the assistant sports information
director and webmaster for www.gobroncs.com at Rider, is an
18-year volunteer EMT, the last 14 with the Delran-Riverside
Emergency Squad. He was recognized for his squad’s efforts
in helping to rescue five people trapped in a house fire in
Riverside in August 2006. The awards were announced by the Samuel
T. Lambert Post 3020 of the VFW.
