Middle States Accreditation
Update
Rider is scheduled for its regional accreditation
site visit by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education
on March 4 – 7, 2007. A preliminary visit by the team chair
will take place November 6 – 7, 2006.
Rider is conducting a selected topics self-study through which
the University is focusing on four of Middle States’ 14
accreditation standards that most closely relate to the strategic
planning and academic assessment that have been integral to the
institution over the past several years. Rider will demonstrate
compliance with the remaining ten standards by means of a document
roadmap, or audit, utilizing existing documentation.
With the help of a steering committee comprised of students, faculty
and staff, many of whom participated as members of the strategic
planning task forces, Rider has developed a draft self-study report
for review by the University community. The draft report and document
roadmap are available via Rider’s Web site at http://www.rider.edu/139_5289.htm.
Forums will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday,
November 2 at the Westminster Playhouse and on Thursday, November
9 in Sweigart Auditorium on the Lawrenceville campus. All students,
faculty and staff are encouraged to review the draft report and
roadmap and to attend one of the forums to provide feedback and
comments.
