Westminster Chapel Choir and Westminster Schola Cantorum Present “A Choral Tapestry” on Saturday, October 28

Conductors Sun Min Lee, Andrew Megill and James Jordan will share the podium in a varied program featuring works for female and male ensembles, as well as mixed voices on Saturday, October 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the Princeton High School Performing Arts Center. Entitled “A Choral Tapestry,” the concert features Westminster Chapel Choir and Westminster Schola Cantorum. The program includes Lauridsen’s O Nata Lux, Handel’s Zadok the Priest, Mendelssohn’s Three Motets and Pärt’s Bogoroditse Devo. Westminster Jubilee Singers Concert on Sunday, October 29

The Westminster Jubilee Singers, conducted by J. Donald Dumpson, will present its fall concert entitled “An Autumn Evening of Inspirational Music” on Sunday, October 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Bristol Chapel on the Westminster campus. (This concert was originally scheduled for Saturday, November 4 at 8 p.m.) The ensemble will be joined by Jubilee alumna Kimberly King-Harley performing the engaging works for which Jubilee is known. Westminster Kantorei Concert on November 3

Westminster Kantorei will present a concert entitled, “Counter-Reformation Rome” on Friday, November 3 at 8 p.m. in Bristol Chapel on the Westminster campus. The bonfire of change sparked by the Protestant Reformation created a wave of reactions from the Vatican. Composers working in Rome responded to new mandates from St. Peter’s by forging a vigorous and dramatic musical style that adopted many of the features of the new genre of opera. This concert presents three works written in this volatile time by Carissimi, Palestrina and Scarlatti. Westminster Community Orchestra Concert “Images from Abroad” on November 4

The Westminster Community Orchestra from Westminster Conservatory will present their first concert of the season on Saturday, November 4 at 8 p.m. at Richardson Auditorium in Alexander Hall at Princeton University. It is entitled “Images from Abroad” and will include works by Sibelius, Bartók, Granados and Shostakovich. Violinist Nick Bleisch will also be featured in Violin Concerto Number 1 in G Minor, opus 26 by Bruch. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students/seniors. Rider Art Gallery Exhibit Cityscapes by John Dubrow and Mari Lyons Nov. 7 to Dec. 2

The Rider University Art Gallery is presenting an exhibit entitled “Home-Street-City” by John Dubrow and Mari Lyons from Tuesday, November 7 to Saturday, December 2. Rider Fine Arts Department to Present Urinetown November 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18

Urinetown is being presented by the Rider Fine Arts Department in November in The Yvonne Theater in the Fine Arts Building on the Lawrenceville campus. There is a preview on Thursday, November 9 at 7 p.m., a brush-up performance on Thursday, November 16 at 7 p.m., and Friday, November 10, Saturday, November 11, Friday, November 17 and Saturday, November 18 the show will run at 8 p.m. This hilarious runaway musical comedy hit moved from New York’s Fringe Festival to Broadway and is a must-see for theater-goers of all ages!
