Cutting Ceremony Highlights Cranberry Fest
With many sporting “I Bleed Cranberry”
T-shirts, Rider University’s Cranberry Fest took center
stage on the Campus Green September 7 complete with a down-home,
country carnival atmosphere.
A major highlight was the grand opening of the newly renovated
Cranberry’s, Rider’s café. The multifaceted
project, coordinated by Jan Friedman-Krupnick,
assistant vice president for student affairs, was part of Rider’s
strategic plan to partner with its food services provider, ARAMARK.
According to President Mordechai Rozanski, one
of the major elements of the plan was to transform the old Cranberry
Café into “the premier ARAMARK retail site in the
region.”

ARAMARK, Rider University's food service provider, invested significantly
to fund the renovation of the newly named café which took
place over the summer. The renovation features expanded seating,
convenient food stations, wireless access, a big screen television
and other amenities.
President Rozanski thanked those involved in the project which
included members of the Rider community, Spill, Farmer Architects,
Scozzari Contractors and ARAMARK. “We are very appreciative
of all your good works in getting us to this point,” said
Rozanski. “The renovation of this facility is tangible evidence
of our commitment to one of the most important facets of our Strategic
Plan: student centeredness.”
SGA President Steven Klemchalk noted the receptiveness
of the campus administration toward students getting involved
and expressing their opinions to enhance campus life.
“Students are constantly giving suggestions to improve
the look and feel of Rider University,” said Klemchalk.
“The New Residence Hall and Student Recreation Center are
two other examples of how we are stepping up to express our deep
pride and love for Rider University. Let us go forward today and
admire our accomplishments. Let us look to the future and make
Rider the best it can be. Go Broncs!”
