Over 50 Alumni Reminisce about New Orleans Trip

More than 50 alumni from both campuses who have participated in the annual American studies jazz trip to New Orleans attended a reunion of song, music and reminiscing on November 10 in Williamson Hall on the Westminster Choir College campus.

In the photo Dr. Jack Sullivan (second from left), director of American studies, joined (from left to right) Michael Rowley, Deidra Bova, Kimberly and Adam Katz. Sabina Pauta, Annie Leonardi and Nicholas D'Vachio have their own discussion in the background.

Sullivan said Williamson Hall was the perfect venue with a wonderful piano and vibrant acoustics. Westminster students who have performed on stages during the trip sang and played jazz standards. Deans Peter Wright and Larry Johnson lent their musical talents to the event. While most of the evening was about reconnecting and sharing experiences, the event served as fundraiser for hurricane relief for flood victims in New Orleans.

Sullivan's three-credit travel course has been running since 1990 and is open to students on both campuses. This year the trip will take place in May following graduation instead of the usual trip in January.
