The Rider men's basketball team will face the nationally-ranked
Villanova Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30 at Trenton's
Sovereign Bank Arena. Tickets to the game are available in the
Rider Athletics ticket office for $26 and be sure to get a great
seat to witness all the action. For more information or to purchase
tickets, contact Cherie Voorhees at ext. 5054.
While faculty, staff and alumni have to purchase tickets to the Villanova game, they are free for Rider students (while supplies last) and will be available in the Rider Athletics ticket office in Alumni Gym beginning Monday, Nov. 28 at 9 a.m. Rider students must bring their Bronc ID to pick up a ticket (one per student). Students who get a ticket and go to the game will also get a free Rider Basketball 6th Man t-shirt that evening at the arena.
To make it easy to see the Broncs that night, Rider Athletics has set up a free shuttle bus from campus to the Sovereign Bank Arena and back for students, faculty and staff to attend the game (courtesy of Stout's Charter Service). Shuttles will leave from the Bart Luedeke Center beginning one hour prior to the start of the game and will return to campus immediately following its conclusion.
A couple of pre-game activities are scheduled for November 30
to encourage the Rider community to come out and support the men's
basketball team. From 5:15 - 5:45 p.m. in front of Alumni Gym,
SGA will host a Rider Rally and is encouraging everyone
to come and show their Rider pride so we can give the men's basketball
team a spirited send-off to the game. Free food and beverages
and performances by the dance team, pep band and cheerleaders
will highlight the afternoon's event. Be sure to come out and
support the Broncs!
Finally, the office of alumni relations is hosting a pre-game
reception at Sovereign Bank Arena beginning at 6 p.m. and the
price of $30 covers the cost of the reception and game tickets.
The cost of the reception alone is $15, but everyone must have
a game ticket to enter the building. For more information, contact
the office of alumni relations at 896-5340.
