Cranberry King, Queen Competition, Hayrides a Part of Family Day Fun

Among the special highlights of Rider University's 2005 Family Day activities was the crowing of the Cranberry King and Queen. The two seniors were selected based upon their embodiment of campus pride, spirit and commitment to community service.

Named Cranberry Queen was (center, left): Amy Peroni, an elementary education/psychology major. Named Cranberry King was (center, right): Brian Rocks, an accounting/finance major. First runner-up for Queen was Khaleeqa Rouse (fifth from left), a senior global business major, and for King, Ryan Dick (fifth from right), a senior elementary education/American studies major.

Members of the King and Queen's Homecoming Court were (from far left): Heather Horowitz, a senior political science major; Ann Singh, a senior advertising major; Jennifer Hiras, a senior biochemistry major; (from far right): Geoff Rickert, a senior computer information systems major; Perry Whiteley, a senior finance/global business major; Chris Manning, a senior history major, and Nicholas Santo, a senior accounting/finance major.

Visitors also had the opportunity to enjoy a narrated hayride of Rider's Lawrenceville campus throughout the day. The ride began at the front steps of the Bart Luedeke Center (BLC).

Zeta Tau Alpha Works to Fight Breast Cancer

In support of the fight against breast cancer, members of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority formed a human ribbon on the lower patio of the Bart Luedeke Center on October 29 to symbolize their commitment to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. This was part of Zeta Tau Alpha's on-going fundraising efforts for breast cancer awareness and research. Several other fundraisers will be held throughout the year.
