On Family Day, Saturday, November 5, students from Rider University's Lawrenceville campus will welcome their families for a day of fun-filled festivities. "Fall Fest" is the theme.
The Rider University Pep Band (R.U.B.B.) will kick the day off at 8:30 a.m. with music on the steps of the Bart Luedeke Center. Activities will begin at that time with a continental breakfast in the Bart Luedeke Center (BLC) Lobby, followed by remarks from President Mordechai Rozanski about the "Rider Renewal,"; and welcoming remarks by Residence Hall Association President Chris Manning in the BLC Theater. Throughout the day, visitors will have an opportunity to meet student leaders and faculty and the Office of Campus Activities has plenty to offer family members of all ages. A narrated hayride of the Lawrenceville campus; a woodcarving exhibition, flag football game; Kin Ball exhibition; and the Cranberry King and Queen competition are among the day's activities.
For those who wish to witness another proud Rider tradition, a Ring Ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. for members of the junior class who ordered class rings. Sponsored by the Class of 2007, the ceremony will take place in Sweigart Hall Auditorium. Other activities will include an opportunity to watch a dress rehearsal of Rider's mainstage theater production, Hair, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in The Yvonne Theater, a swimming meet vs. Marist at 1 p.m. in Coppola Pool; a women's volleyball game vs. Marist at 4 p.m. in Alumni Gym and a family dinner at 5 p.m. in Daly's.
