SBI Teams in National Case Finals Again – Rider University's Small Business Institute (SBI) undergraduate and graduate teams are among the ten finalists in their representative categories for the SBI National Consulting Case-of-the-Year Award. It marks the fifth straight year the undergraduate team has advanced to the finals and the second straight year for the graduate team. For the story, click here.

Five EOP Freshmen Read Papers Before Author – Reading your papers before the author you are critiquing is an unforgettable experience. Five freshmen in Rider's Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), selected for having the best papers in their English composition courses, had that thrill on Friday afternoon in the art gallery when they read their critiques of award-winning author Edwidge Danticat. And Ms. Danticat was in the audience. For the story, click here.

Roller Skater Juggles School, Job and National Competition - In addition to achieving academic success, Lauren Sabarese, a sophomore liberal arts major, has committed herself to the rigors of competing as a nationally-ranked roller skater.  To read more about what motivates this unique student, click here.

King Middle School Adopts M.O.B. Curriculum – Thirty-five sixth through eighth graders at Martin Luther King Middle School in Trenton have been building their entrepreneurial skills in a small learning community through the Minding Our Business (M.O.B.) curriculum. Dr. Sigfredo Hernandez, associate professor of marketing, began the M.O.B. program at Trenton's Holland Middle School through a Harper Professorship in 1996. For the story, click here.

Gift Givers Assume Many Roles – Over the past ten years, Dr. Tina Lowrey, associate professor of marketing at Rider, and her colleague, Dr. Cele Otnes, associate professor of marketing at the University of Illinois/Urbana-Champaign, have studied gift-giving patterns of a cohort of shoppers. They have identified eight roles people assume when buying presents. Which roles do you play?  To find out, click here.
