From March 9 through 17, Dr. Shunzhu Wang, associate professor of Chinese, and Dr. James Castagnera, associate provost and associate counsel for Academic Affairs, led tours to Beijing, Xian, and Shanghai as part of IND-210 Global Encounters in China. The trip, from March 9 to 17, was also open to alumni and community members.

In Beijing, the group took a tour of the Summer Palace, the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and the Great Wall. Later, they experienced the culture and history of Xi’an when they biked around the Ancient City Wall, visited a foot massage parlor and took a tour of the Terracotta Warriors and the Horses. In Shanghai, the group climbed the World Finance Center, the tallest skyscraper in China.
