Jason Thompson hit the lottery, but it had nothing to do with lucky numbers. Rather, Thompson’s big day had more to do with numbers like 20.4 and 12.1, the points and rebounds-per-game averages he posted for the Rider basketball team this past season. As a result, the May 2008 graduate became the 12th player selected in the National Basketball Association draft by the Sacramento Kings on June 26. More



JP Krahel exemplifies the meaning of interdisciplinary. With a Bachelor of Arts in English already under his belt and a Master of Accountancy (MAcc) to follow in August, the Hillsborough, N.J., resident and soon-to-be two-time Rider graduate will begin his pursuit of a Ph.D. in Accounting at Rutgers University as a research assistant in the fall. It was love that brought Cassie Iacovelli back to the New Jersey area. After working at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Iacovelli – a native of Berlin, N.J., who attended Seton Hall University and The College of New Jersey – moved back to be closer to her fiancé at TCNJ. In 1980, she found a home at Rider University and fell in love all over again. More





Unless you walk or bicycle to work, you have no doubt felt the pinch at the pump. Skyrocketing fuel prices have forced most people to alter their budgets to account for the sharp spike in petrol prices. What's more, massive fossil-fuel consumption is taking a negative toll on the environment.     According to the Spring 2008 report issued by NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative Dr. Jonathan Husch, the Broncs collectively registered a 3.06 grade point average for the semester, marking the highest collective GPA ever produced by Rider student-athletes.


  • Local Teachers Get CONNECT-ED to Big Ideas
    For two weeks, local school teachers will have the chance to collaborate and enhance their knowledge of science, math and technology through two professional development programs held in a partnership between Rider University and Princeton University. The programs, CONNECT-ED and QUEST, will run on both campuses simultaneously from Monday, July 7, through Friday, July 18.
