The Westminster Chinese Instrument Orchestra and the Music from China Youth Orchestra, conducted by Wang Guowei, will perform on Sunday, April 13 at 3 p.m. in Bristol Chapel on the campus of Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, N.J. The program will feature traditional and new music for Chinese instruments from different parts of China. Admission is free.

Found in 2011, the Westminster Chinese Instrument Orchestra provides an opportunity for Rider University students to diversify their education in an increasingly globalized age. By participating in this ensemble, the students not only learn an instrument, they also gain some insight into Chinese culture and history.

The Music from China Youth Orchestra has brought the best of Chinese music - ancient, folk and contemporary – to audiences in the New York area and beyond since 1984. Founded by Director Susan Cheng and Artistic Director Wang Guowei, the ensemble has carved a unique place in the music world by playing not only the traditional repertoire, but creating and presenting new work by established and emerging composers
