The talk is part of the on-going Faculty Lecture Series
Friday, March 29, 2013

Dr. Michelle Amazeen, assistant professor of Advertising, will be presenting Fact-Checking: It's Not Just for Politics on Tuesday, April 2, in the Mercer Room of Daly Dining Hall, as part of the Faculty Lecture Series.  Dr. Amazeen 's research interests primarily involve advertising and disinformation. Amazeen has examined the prevalence of inaccuracies in political advertising and how political actors are held accountable for their claims. She has also explored the authenticity of strategic communication efforts in the mediated information environment including the alignment of corporate social responsibility campaigns with advertising.

As space may be limited, those interested in joining us should RSVP by Friday, March 29, to Wilda Bleakley at wbleakle@rider.edu.

The Faculty Lecture Series has been re-envisioned to facilitate greater participation from across the University.  The Series now features one speaker each from the College of Business Administration, the Liberal Arts, the Sciences and Mathematics, Education, the School of Fine and Performing Arts, and Westminster Choir College over the course of an academic year.  The goal is to create an ongoing and inclusive dialog of intellectual engagement.

In fall 2012, Dr. Kathy Kessler Price, assistant professor of Voice, presented  "Performance, Pedagogy, and Technology: Confessions of a Singing Scientist."  Dr. Price's talk included an exploration of these questions: Why does a professional singer who is also an experienced teacher become a voice scientist? How can the diverse media of performing, teaching, and technological research combine to inform each of these areas and mold curious, passionate musicians and teachers?
