The most anticipated boat race is returning to Coppola Pool, and organizers want to know: Do you have what it takes to stay afloat?
For the third year in a row, The Center for the Development of Leadership Skills has teamed up with Recreational Programs and the Organizational Leadership program to present the Team Leadership Challenge 2012: “Navigating Your Path to Success.” The Team Leadership Challenge, which will take place on Sunday, April 15, from 2 to 7 p.m., involves student teams putting their leadership and team-building skills to the test as they construct cardboard canoes and race their creations across the Richard A. Coppola Pool. This year, organizers are also teaming up with the Office of Greek Life to make TLC an official Greek Week event.
Students may register individually (to later be placed on a team), but it is encouraged that students register in teams (maximum of five students to a team). The first 20 teams to register will have the opportunity to take part in the experience. As a team, students will attend a two-hour workshop designed to provide leadership training and cardboard canoe building preparation. Training dates and times are:
- Tuesday, April 10, from 7 to 9 p.m., North Hall Room 202
- Friday, April 13, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., SRC Seminar Room
- Sunday, April 15, from noon to 2 p.m., SRC Seminar Room
