Originally from Riga, Latvia, Kristine Janusa now lives in New Jersey and has been a faculty member in piano at the Westminster Conservatory of Music since 2009. Kristine also maintains a private piano studio in Hamilton, New Jersey.
Ms. Janusa’s formal studies include Westminster Choir College (M.M. in piano performance and pedagogy with distinction) and Riga Teacher Training and Educational Management Academy (B.A. in piano performance and pedagogy). At Westminster Choir College, Ms. Janusa’s primary piano teacher was Ena Bronstein Barton with whom she studied piano performance. Her pedagogy teachers include nationally recognized authors and educators like Ingrid Clarfield, Phyllis Alpert Lehrer and Dr. Chiu-LingLinn.
Kristine has been teaching since 1998 and has a variety of teaching experience that includes directing a chamber choir, working with children and young adults, and teaching privately or in a classroom setting. She enjoys performing and is also a trained accompanist. She currently studies jazz piano and voice.
