Dr. Hulsman's principal field is nineteenth century English literature. Besides seminars in the Romantic and Victorian periods, he teaches courses in satire and general humanities. He has edited a collection of the poetry of Robert Browning and an anthology of the religious writing of John Henry Newman. Dr. Hulsman is a recipient of the University's Distinguished Teaching Award.
