Alison Simpson graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Music with a Bachelor of Music in Harp Performance and from Wheaton College with a Bachelor of Arts in European History. She spent 13 summers at the Salzedo Summer Harp Colony studying with Alice Chalifoux.
Ms. Simpson is a freelance professional harpist in the tri-state area, performing with area symphonies and choral societies. She was a former solo performer with the young audience of New Jersey and was a frequent entertainer on the Luxury Liner Queen Elizabeth 2. She performs regularly in a harp duo called Harps Afire and has a CD by the same name. Alison served three terms as president of the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Harp Society and was co-chair for the 2004 National Harp Conference. She teaches at Westminster Conservatory and maintains a private studio in Doylestown, PA.
