Preparation to teach French, German, or Spanish foreign languages is accomplished through a double major program requiring completion of the requirements of the major, general studies, and professional education major requirements. Teacher Candidates seeking New Jersey Certification in World Languages must take the Oral Proficiency Test (OPI) prior to graduation.

Rider University’s Gender and Sexuality Studies program explores the complex interactions among race, class, ethnicity, gender, and sexuality. Courses in Gender and Sexuality Studies explore the current debates on key issues such as reproductive rights, domestic partnerships, health, communication and law. The Geosciences major prepares students for meaningful and productive post-baccalaureate employment and/or admission to high-quality graduate programs. The program incorporates a broad and challenging curriculum, which emphasizes and investigates many of the important geologic subdisciplines. These include rock-forming mechanisms and controls, deformational and tectonic processes, the weathering and erosion of geologic materials, the transport and deposition of derived sediments, and the physical and biological history of the Earth.

Health care is the fastest growing industry in the country, and comprises over one-tenth of all economic activity in the United States. By many estimates, health expenditures will continue to increase in the coming years, creating even more job opportunities in health administration. In this dynamic industry, new, young leaders will be needed to adjust to the constant technological, financial, managerial, and demographic changes. The Rider faculty is committed to preparing students for a wide variety of managerial positions in the many industries, which comprise the health care sector.
