This workshop is designed to prepare students to effectively create, produce, shoot, and edit basic video production assignments including digital short films, music videos, television news packages, and multi-camera television studio productions. It introduces students to basic digital filmmaking and video production theories, techniques, and applications. Participants gain competency in a number of video production areas including: production planning, camera operations, lighting, sound, and digital non-linear editing. Individual and group activities involve planning and executing video productions in both studio and non-studio settings.

Faculty
Barry Janes
Professor of Communication at Rider University. He works and teaches electronic media theory, programming and technology and has been a producer, director and/or writer of more than 100 video productions.
Scott Alboum
Mr. Alboum serves as the video technologies coordinator and the advisor to R.U.N., the Rider University Network. He primarily teaches courses in television production and digital composting. Alboum is the founder and Chairman of the Passaic County Student Film and Video Festival. He also is serving on the Databazaar.com Scholarship Jury. His production interests include documentary and narrative film production.
