Immerse yourself in a weekend of music-making with Suzuki students and teachers! This workshop is for violinists and pianists in Suzuki Books 1 – 5, and will include master classes, group classes, and enrichment classes with renowned clinicians. We'll kick off the weekend with a play-in on Friday evening and end on Sunday with a concert for all participants. Summer is a perfect time of the year for musical motivation! Come enjoy a quality Suzuki Weekend in your own backyard. Make new friends while sharing the joy of making music!
Prerequisite
Students must have polished their Twinkles. Participants will be placed in master classes and group classes according to age and repertoire. As with any Suzuki workshop, festival, or institute, repertoire must be played from memory, and parents or caregivers are required to attend all classes.
Schedule
All participants will attend group and enrichment classes on Saturday and Sunday. Each participant will also participate in one special master class with one of our clinicians. Each day of the workshop will include either a play-in or a concert. Daily parent discussions will focus on inspiring motivation and practice. Additional master classes may be available depending on enrollment and schedule.
*Some master classes will be scheduled on Friday between 3:00 and 7:00 PM. Please indicate on the registration form if you are available during this time.
For Teachers and Parents
We are once again offering the Every Child Can! (ECC) course on Friday, July 19 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. As described by the Suzuki Association of the Americas, ECC “is a one day introductory course on the Suzuki philosophy and its application to education. For parents, teachers, prospective teachers and others, this course provides an inspiring, in-depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning. For teachers, ECC serves as the first course in the Suzuki Association of the Americas Teacher Development Program.” To learn more about the course, visit the SAA website.
