for Winds, Brass, and Percussion

Try it out Seniors is a one-week camp designed to give students with or without previous musical experience the opportunity to try a select wind, brass or percussion instrument.  Daily activities include a lesson on the chosen instrument, instrument demonstrations, and group lessons on additional instruments, including hand bells, drums and tin whistle.

Requirements
Students must be entering grades 4 through 6 in the fall of 2013. They should not have any previous experience playing the instrument that they choose to try out. Their choices include one of the following: flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and percussion.

Schedule
This is a one-week camp running Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM.  In addition to the sample daily activities listed above, students will have a break to eat their snack from home and time to socialize with other students.  On the last day of camp, parents and families are invited to a final presentation where the students will share all the things they have learned during the week.  More information regarding the final presentation will be in the confirmation packet.

Location
Try It Out Seniors will be held in Princeton at a location TBA.

Instrument Information
Students will be expected to supply the instrument they are trying out in the camp.  Information on instrument rental for Try It Out Seniors will be included in the confirmation packet.

$50 Late Fee added to tuition for registrations received one week prior to starting date of camp.

Fee includes music (as applicable), a Westminster Conservatory tote bag, and a Westminster Conservatory T-shirt. Instrument rental not included.  Students will receive information on instrument rentals in their confirmation packets.

A non-refundable deposit of $100 is due with the application. The balance of the fee is due by June 1. Registrations received after June 1 must pay in full. Cancellations after June 1 will receive a refund (less deposit, above) only if another student can be placed from a waiting list.

For each friend that you refer to Try It Out Seniors summer camp, you will receive a discount on your Try It Out Seniors tuition provided the friend puts your name on their registration form in the Refer-a-Friend section.
