Come experience a fun-filled week of fluting! Sandy Olson and Gerald Carey, a duo who have been teaching summer flute camps for more than 25 years, are joined once again by flutist Sue Gillio and staff pianist Esma Pasic-Filipovic.  Sue Gillio will bring with her from her studio in Illinois an array of larger flutes for student use during flute camp: (Alto flutes, Bass flutes and a Contrabass flute).  Students will be assured a quality a quality ensemble experience.

If you love to play the flute, then consider this seven-day camp where you can strengthen your flute technique, learn new solo and small-ensemble repertoire, hear faculty recitals, gain performing experience, and make new friends!

New this year – Both middle school and high school flute students have the option of residing on campus in the dorms or commuting from home. Students are supervised in the dorm by counselors.

Prerequisites
Students are placed in ability-based groups for small ensembles and must have a minimum of 2 years of playing or permission of the camp director, Sandy Olson (solson272@gmail.com).

Location
Flute Camp will be held on the campus of Westminster Choir College in Princeton. Directions will be included in the confirmation packet.

Program Highlights
Daily scales and warm-up classes, master classes, faculty recitals, flute choir, specialty classes and a final recital.

Schedule
Sun., 2 – 4 PM Placement Auditions
Mon. – Fri., 9 AM – 5 PM Camp Classes
Sat., 9:30 AM – 12 PM Final Performance

Materials Needed
Students are asked to bring their flute, a piece of music to play upon arrival, portable music stand (fold away), a repertoire list (solos, scales, etudes), and pencils and erasers.

For Residential Students $850 $875

$50 Late Fee added to tuition for registrations received one week prior to starting date of camp.

Fees include lunch Monday through Friday for Day Campers, room and board including 3 meals a day for residential campers, a Westminster Conservatory T-shirt, and a $25 student activities fee.

A non-refundable deposit of $100 is due with the camp application. The balance is due by June 1. Registrations received after June 1 must pay in full. Cancellations after June 1 will receive a refund (less deposit, above) only if another student can be placed from a waiting list.

Refer a Friend Program
For each friend that you refer to Flute Camp, you will receive a discount on your Flute Camp tuition provided the friend registers for Flute Camp and puts your name on their registration form in the Refer-a-Friend section.

Limit:  4 referrals per student

  • Discount:  $75 off your tuition per referral if the student signs up for the day camp
  • Discount:  $100 off your tuition per referral if the student signs up for the residential camp
