Under the direction of choral conductor and clinician, Amanda Quist, the two-week Vocal Institute at Westminster draws 100 students from across the country and around the world.

$1350 Non-residential (includes lunch; dinner when evening schedule occurs)

Tuition Discounts

  • Two or more programs - $100 discount off each program
  • Family discount - Families sending more than one student receive a $100 discount per program
  • Returning student - $50 discount per program

Enrollment
Enrollment is open to students entering the 10th grade through those who have just completed their senior year. There is no audition or application deadline for this program, however it is advisable to register early to reserve your place in this popular class.

Program Highlights

  • Focus on college-level choral singing of major choral works, including movements from the Mozart Requiem with professional stirng players, and a new piece by Daniel Elder
  • Daily voice classes with Westminster artist faculty Elem Eley (bass), Thomas Faracco (tenor), Julia Kemp (alto), Elizabeth Sutton (soprano) and Sharon Sweet (soprano)
  • Music Theory classes with Westminster artist faculty Anthony Kosar and Christian Carey
  • Audition to perform in the Chamber Choir, or Women’s Chorus or Men's Chorus 
  • Solo vocal training in classical performance and musical theater classes
  • Opportunities for private lessons (additional fee; see below)
  • Elective classes
  • Perform in the final voice class recital and a choral concert at the Princeton University Chapel (parents, families and friends are invited to attend)

Daily Schedule

  • Morning: Choral rehearsal, sectionals and movement classes
  • Afternoon: Select ensembles, choral rehearsal, elective classes and theory/sight-reading
  • Evening: Special activities

Opportunities for optional private lessons during Vocal Institute

  • Private lessons are $25 per half hour.
  • Once students attend their first group voice class they can arrange for private lessons with their teacher.
  • The teacher will confirm lesson time with the student.
  • Students opting to take private lessons will usually have one or two lessons during their stay.
  • Student can bring cash or a debit card for payment directly to the instructor.
