Now in its 16th year and expanded to two weeks, the summer High School Music Theater Workshop is for high school performers who are Broadway-bound.

Westminster faculty member Frank Abrahams is workshop coordinator and musical director. Faculty members and guest artists include Mariann Cook, Jason Vodicka and Ben Dibble. Every participant performs in the concert version of a Broadway musical as well as in a showcase revue.

$1750 Resident
$1350 Non-residential (includes lunch; dinner when evening schedule occurs)

Tuition Discounts

  • Two or more programs - $100 discount off each program
  • Family discount - Families sending more than one student receive a $100 discount per program
  • Returning student - $50 discount per program

Enrollment
Enrollment is open to students entering the 10th grade through those who have just completed their senior year. Enrollment is limited; applicants are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis; and acceptance is based on available space in each voice part. Please list all voice parts you are willing to sing (mark first and second choices, if appropriate). Students must participate in both weeks of the program.

Program Highlights

  • Acting (including scene study and audition techniques)
  • Voice instruction with Mariann Cook 
  • Perform in the Musical Theater Showcase Revue directed by Ben Dibble  
  • Perform in a concert version of a Broadway musical directed by Jason Vodicka, with musical direction by Frank Abrahams
  • Attend The Arden Theatre's performance of Tulipomania in Philadelphia featuring Ben Dibble (travel and tickets included in tuition)
  • Attend a Broadway performance of The Gershwins' Porgy & Bess in New York City (travel and tickets included in tuition)

Daily Schedule

  • Classes in acting, choreography and voice
  • Ensemble vocal rehearsals, individual coaching
  • Blocking rehearsals
