Administration and Supervision Degree Programs

The Master of Arts in Educational Administration is a program designed for candidates who aspire to school leadership positions as a supervisor, director, assistant principal or principal.

Teacher Leadership

This degree program is designed for students who wish to develop their instructional leadership capacities in educational settings. The program is designed to be developmental and experiential in nature, fostering ethical behavior and the improvement of the profession.

Principal Certificate

The Principal Certificate is a sequence option designed for candidates who aspire to school leadership positions as a director, assistant principal, or principal. Candidates have completed a Master degree and hold New Jersey certification as supervisor.

Supervisor of Instruction Certificate

This program is designed for experienced and fully certified teachers to gain the necessary skills and professional knowledge to become supervisors in a New Jersey school district. Prospective students must have a Standard New Jersey teacher’s certificate, three years of approved full-time teaching experience, and a Master degree from an accredited college or university to be admitted into the program.

Concentration Options

Developing People and Organizations
Prepares students to be successful, strategic and impactful professionals who are able to work effectively through others. Students learn to see the “big picture” as it relates to an organization and its environment while developing leadership skills relating to recruitment, high performance teams, organizational change, conflict management and the development of organizational talent.

Higher Education
Prepare students to assume a variety of institutional roles in higher education, with emphasis on developing leadership skills for organizational change. Students learn about the functions and workings of student affairs departments, and planning and budgeting in the higher education environment.

Counseling-Related Services 
Prepares students with the necessary knowledge to become effective leaders and change agents in organizations serving consumers with mental health needs. Orients leadership students to the counseling perspective, which is useful for a wide range of professions, including administration in community agencies and educational institutions.
